AT&T TOBR (Transfer of Billing Responsibility)AT&T → AT&T
TOBR is how you move a wireless line from one AT&T account to another while staying on AT&T. If you’re switching to another carrier, you need a Transfer PIN.
If a personal/consumer account is involved, or you’re not my business client, use AT&T’s online process directly: att.com/tobr.
People search TOBR a bunch of different ways
If you searched any of these, you’re in the right place:
att.com/tobr, att tobr, tobr att, at&t tobr, att/tobr, www.att.com/tobr.
When to use TOBR (business-to-business)
- Move a line from one AT&T Business account to another AT&T Business account.
- Consolidate lines from multiple AT&T Business accounts into one business account.
- Move lines between related businesses (multiple locations / entities) that each have their own AT&T Business account.
Before you start
- Past due balance: TOBR often fails until the account is current.
- Authority: initiator must be an authorized user on the current account.
- Plans/promos: credits can change if the receiving account’s plan/eligibility changes.
- Email access: acceptor must be able to open the AT&T email/text quickly.
How TOBR works (simple steps)
1) Initiator (current account) starts the transfer
- Go to att.com/tobr and choose Start transfer.
- Sign in, select the line(s), and enter the acceptor’s email address.
- Submit. AT&T sends the acceptor a secure link to continue.
2) Acceptor (new account) accepts the transfer
- Open the AT&T email/text and click Accept transfer.
- Sign in, confirm the line(s), choose plan/features, and accept the terms.
- Finish acceptance. The line moves after both sides complete their steps.
Common pitfalls
- Transfer PIN confusion: Transfer PIN is for switching carriers. TOBR is AT&T → AT&T.
- Disconnecting the line: don’t cancel the line before TOBR completes.
- Promo surprises: plan changes can change/stop credits — check before acceptance.
- Email mismatch: wrong acceptor email or they can’t access it.
