Find out how to switch an active SIM card to another device.
When swapping SIM cards on AT&T, it’s important to make sure that the SIM cards for both devices are the same size. Additionally, you should check to make sure that you already have a compatible data plan before swapping the SIM cards. If you don’t have a compatible data plan, you should add one before swapping the SIM cards. For example: “A sim card in an Android device will not work properly in an iPhone until the data plan is updated to the iPhone data plan and vice versa.”

Also, make sure to find out how to get a replacement SIM card in case you need one. It’s important to note that if you have a 5G device, you will need a 5G SIM card for the device to work on the 5G network.
To swap the active SIM cards, you can follow these steps:
- Turn off your device.
- Remove the old SIM card.
- Insert the new SIM card into the device.
- Turn on your device.
For AT&T Wireless SIM cards, you can refer to the device tutorials for help with inserting the SIM card. If you have an AT&T Wireless eSIM, you can transfer your eSIM between devices as long as both phones are compatible. To do this, connect both devices to Wi-Fi and go to Bring Your Own Device, and select “Move my number to a different device” and follow the prompts to complete the transfer.
